OPPO recently revealed some new teaser images for the upcoming OPPO K9s smartphone in its home market of China. It is worth noting that OPPO confirmed that the device will be equipped with a "virtual mechanical keyboard" feature with an X-axis linear motor.

The teaser images show that OPPO is working with keyboard manufacturer Dujia to bring the vibration simulation function to the OPPO K9s virtual keyboard application.

This "virtual mechanical keyboard" will support 3 kinds of lighting effects, 4 different skins and 6 kinds of pressing feeling.

Of course, the X-axis linear motor will be used on this phone in reproducing the feeling of vibration, thereby simulating the feeling of typing like on real mechanical keyboards.

The X-axis linear haptics motor is inherently superior to the Z-axis and older rotor motors in that it is capable of generating stronger vibrations and can be tuned to dozens of situations, thereby bringing to a better vibration experience for users.

Regarding the configuration information, it is expected that OPPO K9s will use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G chipset, powered by a 5,000mAh high-capacity battery and support 30W VOOC fast charging.

The device has a 6.59-inch LTPS screen, supports Full-HD + resolution (1,080 x 2,412 pixels), 120Hz refresh rate and runs on Android 11 operating system. The device will be pre-installed with Android 11 operating system.

OPPO K9s will have a trio of 64-megapixel + 8-megapixel + 2-megapixel cameras. The front of the device is equipped with a 16-megapixel selfie camera. The power button on the right side of the device is integrated with a fingerprint scanner.
